Donna Chaney

Director of Flexible Spending & Premium Accounting

Donna Chaney has been with Houze and Associates since March 2003. Although she was originally hired to handle flexible spending administration, her position has grown to encompass many other responsibilities. Currently, Donna supervises our premium accounting department, handles general accounting, payroll and accounts payable, and serves as primary contact for flexible spending issues. She also helps field phone calls and provides customer service to our clients, as does all of our office staff.

But, according to Donna, her most exciting job duties revolve around the open enrollment process. Her involvement with open enrollment begins during pre-enrollment planning and continues through the wrap up phase after the enrollment is over. Prior to an enrollment, she helps with the formatting and confirmation of census data, assists with the development and design of our online enrollment system, handles the testing and troubleshooting of the unique online enrollment form for each client, and participates in the pre-enrollment training of our benefits counselors. Afterwards, she makes sure all applications and other required forms are submitted to the carriers, post enrollment reports are created and forwarded to the proper contact, and follows up on any missing items. As a self confessed control freak, she enjoys being a part of the entire process.

Prior to coming to Houze and Associates, Donna served as Accounting Manger for another company for 15 years. Although her background is primarily in accounting, she has considerable experience in customer service, computer systems administration, and inventory control. Donna is also a licensed life insurance agent through the State of Georgia.

Though she was born in Villa Rica, GA., Donna has lived in Lagrange most of her life. She graduated from Troup High School in 1983 and attended the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Mark, have been married for over 26 years and have three daughters; Amanda, Meagan, and Allie and one grandson, Gage.
