SICK LEAVE

There are two (2) sick leave options. You may select the “Regular Sick Leave” option or “Sick Leave Buy-Back” option.

Regular Sick Leave

Accrues at 13 days (4 hours per bi-weekly for 40 hour employees or 6 hours per bi-weekly for 56 hour employees) for a 12 month period.

Sick Leave Buy-Back

This option reduces your regular accrual rate to 5 days (1.36 hours per bi-weekly for 40 hour employees or 2.24 hours per bi-weekly for 56 hour employees) for a 12 month period.

At the end of the plan year, you may elect to be paid or convert only hours accrued and not used for the plan year even if you have a remaining sick leave balance from prior years. If you use any hours during the plan year, you would still be eligible to buy-back the remaining hours up to the maximum 5 days accrued leave for that year.

BUY BACK ENROLLMENT

Employees must have 160 hours before they can enroll in the Sick Leave Buy-Back Plan.

NOTE: You will not be able to change sick leave plans until the following Open Enrollment for the next Plan Year.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

Effective June 4, 2017: an approved Bereavement Policy gives 3 days of bereavement time for the loss of a family member as defined in the policy for all full-time and graded part-time employees.

Parental Leave policy gives full-time employees six-weeks, paid-time-off to care for and bond with their newborn or newly adopted child.
