Lincoln Financial

Short term disability insurance will help ease the financial stress of a covered illness or injury.

Employees can select a weekly benefit amount in $50 increments up to 60% of salary. Employees can elect for benefits to begin on the 15th day for 24 weeks or on the 46th day for 20 weeks of disability due to an accident or sickness.

Plan Design

Maternity Benefits

Maternity Benefits are paid the same as any other qualifying disability, subject to any applicable pre-existing condition exclusion.

Pre-Existing Condition

The pre-existing period is 3/6. This means that any resulting condition from injury or sickness for which the Employee received medical treatment, services or incurred expenses for 3 months prior to the date of his or her coverage that results in disability within the first 6 months of coverage will not be covered.

Benefits Offset

  • Amounts of weekly benefits will be reduced by any Social Security or other retirement income being received by the claimant.
  • No benefit will be paid if you are injured on the job or collecting Workers Compensation benefits.
  • Employees are required to use all sick-leave before using STD benefit.
